Saguaro Ranch was planned around a simple idea: keep most of the desert as desert. About 80 percent of the community is permanently preserved, and you reach it through a tunnel in the mountain. Arriving feels like discovering a hidden national park.
This estate was the personal retreat of Saguaro Ranch's original developer. The current owners reimagined it from 2023 to 2026 with award-winning designs: a redesigned kitchen, new outdoor rooms, sound and grounds, all built around how the place is actually lived in.
The only way in: the tunnel through the Tortolita foothills.

The great room sits under hand-carved beams imported from Argentina, with a floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace at one end and dining at the other. French doors along both walls open the room to the courtyard on one side and the terraces on the other.

Redesigned for entertaining.
The kitchen was redesigned in 2023 around a long stone island, a professional range under a steel hood, and a ribbon of windows facing the hills. Beside it, an entertaining nook sits against a wall of stacked stone, and the barrel-vaulted wine cellar is a few steps away.

The evening happens out here.

The sky deck · third floor
Sunrise to starlight.
About 900 square feet on the third floor, with a dining table, loungers and nothing above it but sky. The sun rises over the Catalina Mountains, sets over the Sonoran Desert, and then the dark desert night takes over. See tonight's sky from here.

From the sky deck
Every night, the stars above the house.
We've mapped the sky over the sky deck for every night of the year. Here is tonight's, in plain English: what you'll see, where to look and when.

How to read the map. The circle is the whole sky above the deck, as if you were lying back and looking straight up. The middle is directly overhead and the edge is the horizon. North is at the top, and east is on the left because you are looking up, not down at a map. Drag the slider, or the map itself, to move through the night, and use the arrows to pick another night.
Calculated from the positions of the stars, planets and Moon for the house's exact location. It is not a weather forecast or a photograph: clouds and moonlight change what you can actually see.
